The first ever Miss Shining Star Pageant was held on Sunday, July 24th 2005 at Talbott Street Bar in Indianapolis. The contest featured the following contestants:

Akasha Diamond Simone was crowned Miss Capital City USofA @ Large in Columbus, Ohio at Axis Night Club on Sunday, July 10th. The incredible Bianca Bouvier who was giving up the title last night gave us classic Bianca. We love you girl! Also, congratulations goes out to Candi Panties who was 1st alternate and Roxi West who was 2nd alternate. Interview and Gown went to Akasha Diamond Simone and Talent went to Candi Panties. Way to go girls!
